Rehabilitation Counseling
Rehabilitation Counseling assists individuals with disabilities in achieving their vocational and independent living goals through motivational interviewing.
Work Ready
Program
The Work Ready curriculum includes impression management, personality and interest assessment, resume and cover letter help, workplace behavior development, goal setting, tranferable skills analysis, and a mock interview trial.
Financial Literacy
The Financial Literacy combines independent living goals with managing a budget.
Work Trial Assessment
Placement into a short-term work experience to evaluate a client’s job skills, behavior, and endurance level.
Labor Market Survey
A labor market survey consists of a realistic job search in one’s environment and experience level.
Job Placement and Coaching
Job Placement provides a direct, paid placement at an employer. Job Coaching provides direct on-the-job support, mentoring, and advocacy with the employer.
Travel Navigation
Helps individuals with disabilities navigate rural and urban transportation systems to increase their independence. Our navigators use a step-by-step scoring system and assess safety during every route.
Live Empowered!
The Live Empowered program helps persons with disabilities lead successful, independent lives. The curriculum includes decision making, personal hygiene, mental and physical health, financial literacy, personal safety, work readiness, and a cooking class.
Resource Navigation
Resource Navigation helps with navigating resources in the area that can benefit one’s independent living goals.
Group Counseling
Group Counseling offers peer support and builds relationships. Peers come together to talk about their strengths, struggles, accomplishments, goals, and help each other out.
At Purposework, each consumer works independently with a vocational rehabilitation counselor to assess their goals, disabilities, and the environment. The VRC evaluates how these areas work together to achieve their independent living goals. Motivational interviewing is used as a counseling method to challenge feelings of ambivalence to change, increase motivation, and encourage consumers.
